St. Patrick’s Day

Spring is almost here, and I am already getting spring fever! Before we can have spring, we celebrate, St. Patrick’s day and plant a flower day. Plant a flower day comes on March 12th and is celebrated by…… planting a flower! It is symbolic for showing new life and the coming of spring. St. Patrick’s day is one of my favorite minor holidays, we celebrate it on March 17th, the day St. Patrick died. However St. Patrick was not Irish, he was born in Wales, he was taken captive by the Irish and was a slave there he escaped and went back to his family and church. He later came back to Ireland and was a bishop there. Now we celebrate it with cabbage and corn beef and Irish soda bread. This recipe for Irish soda bread is delicious!

Jeepers, guess I don’t get on often enough. Your post is making me go and check the date of the corned beef that I have in the fridge. G’pa will be so happy if it is not expired–and I manage to cook it before it IS.
    Love you–
